1. Let's set a context here. See if you can put the following biblical characters in chronological order: Moses, Abraham, David, Saul, Samuel, Nehemiah, Adam, Solomon.
2. Again, context. What is Saul's job? What is Samuel's job?
3. What exactly did Saul do wrong here?
4. How did Saul justify his behavior?
5. What was the real issue here? Why did Saul do what he did?
6. 1 Samuel 16.7. What do we learn about God and following God from this verse?
7. What do we learn about reaching men from this same verse?
8. How does this tendency to choose based on externals get us in trouble? What does it cost us?
